Loy Instrument, Inc welcomes to our family of product offerings the Schubert & Salzer Valves. These Valves serve a wide range of industries and applications. Industries served are Power, Manufacturing, Refining, Chemical, Waste Water, Rubber, Automotive, Glass, Food and Steel.
Schubert & Salzer manufactures innovative valves and control products to a wide range of process industries for all of North and South America. Their control and actuated valves serve a variety of disciplines where durability, precision and value are important. Schubert & Salzer can look back proudly on a company history dating back more than 100 years. Schubert & Salzer, Incorporated located in Concord, North Carolina provides engineered solutions for the North and South American markets. Their parent company, Schubert & Salzer Control Systems GmbH, is located in Ingolstadt, Germany in the heart of Bavaria. On their web site you will find information about every product we manufacture, including installation & maintenance instructions, application data, and a sizing program that allows you to select valves for your specific needs. Whether your requirements are for gaseous or liquid media, Schubert & Salzer has a product that addresses your needs. Schubert & Salzer exemplifies excellent response and delivery, highly functional products that are competitively priced, completing a full circle of value.
One example of where these valves are use are in Tire Production plants. Tire curing presses work at high pressures of steam, water, and nitrogen, as well as at high temperatures. In addition, the very short processing cycles require extremely robust valves for very high cycles, so that good operating efficiency is achieved with the service live being as long as possible.
Especially two valves of Schubert & Salzer have proven particularly suitable for these demanding operating conditions.
Angle seat valve 7010 in stainless steel, distinguishes itself by high Cv values at a very compact construction, a variety of possible connections, and very easy maintenance. High-temperature versions, developed especially for tire curing presses, ensure a high degree of tightness and long service life even in hot-water applications up to 220° C. The special advantage of 7010 angle seat valves is the high wear resistance. This is very important under the critical conditions of vulcanization with deposits and corrosion in the pipeline. The 7010 valves from Schubert & Salzer operate at the same place without problems for 2- 3 years without leakage.
The unique sliding gate valve of Schubert & Salzer has proven itself as the superior control valve solution in tire curing presses all over the world. The GS valve product line controls liquid, steam, and gaseous media precisely, quickly and economically.
In curing installations, the following properties of sliding gate control valves have proven extremely advantageous:
- very long service lives, because the service life exceeds that of globe control
valves by up to seven times,
- for every operating requirement in the system, the valve can be optimized with a
corresponding Kvs value, which requires merely the simple replacement of the
- the optimised Kvs value significantly extends the service life of the valve,
the high control accuracy of the sliding gate valve allows a shortening of the
press cycles resulting in increased productivity,
- simple and quick maintenance of the valve by replacing the easily accessible
Valves of Schubert & Salzer are not only used in tire curing presses, but of course also in the central supply of steam or nitrogen, at the mixer (air regulation for further transport), air conditioning, etc.
The Ball Sector Valve especially designed to handle arduous duties, slurries and viscous fluids is suitable for control and isolation. With pneumatic and electrical actuators, it is the best choice for very precise control in for example the paper, steel, chemical, food and effluent industries.
Globe valves are available in two categories, conventional and angle globe. These control valves feature integral top mount positioners; pneumatic, analogue and digital. Motor operators are also available for both on/off and positioning control. Sizes available are 1/4″ through 3″. Control valves are 316 stainless steel and on/off motorized versions also available in bronze.
